Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 September 2026
This policy explains how Elevate Publishers di Altieri Davide (“Elevate Publishers”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit elevatepublishers.com, request one of our free resources, receive our emails, or write to us. It is written to be read: plain language, and specific to how this business actually works.
1. Who we are
The data controller — the business responsible for deciding how and why your personal data is used — is:
- Business name
- Elevate Publishers di Altieri Davide
- VAT No.
- 13858500963
- Registered address
- Via Luciano Manara, 3, 20900 Monza (MB), Italy
- Data Protection Officer
- None appointed. Write to the contact address above for anything about your data.
Elevate Publishers is operated from Italy and serves customers worldwide. It teaches self-publishing through YouTube, free resources, courses and an online community.
2. What this website is
elevatepublishers.com is mainly an informational website: it presents Elevate Publishers, its free resources and its community. You don’t need an account to use it, and nothing is sold on it directly. The community, courses and memberships are provided on Skool, a separate platform (see section 8).
3. The data we collect
We only collect what we need for the purposes in section 4:
- Free resource requests. When you request a free resource through one of our forms, we collect your first name and email address, your acceptance of our Terms of Use and whether you agreed to receive our marketing emails. We first email you a link to confirm that the address is yours. If you agreed to marketing emails, we also record when you confirmed, on which page, and which version of the wording you agreed to, so that we can respect your choice and show that we did.
- Email activity. When you open one of our emails or click a link in it, EmailOctopus and the providers it uses to deliver emails can see technical information such as your IP address, and EmailOctopus can report to us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked.
- Community members and customers. If you join the Elevate Publishers community on Skool, or buy one of our guides or courses on Gumroad, those platforms share with us your name and email address and, for Gumroad, what you bought and how much you paid. We add you to our email list on EmailOctopus with labels for your plan (free, Standard or Premium) and for where you joined, so that each email reaches the right people. If you told Gumroad not to contact you, we don’t add you.
- Messages you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, your message and anything else you choose to share.
- Technical data. When you visit the website, your browser sends technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages requested and the date and time — to our hosting provider, which may record it in server logs to deliver the website and protect it.
- Answers in interactive resources. What you type into an interactive worksheet or tool is saved only in your own browser (its local storage), so it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us and we never see it. You can erase it with the Start over button on the resource, or by clearing your browser data.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in section 9 and in the Cookie Policy.
We don’t collect payment details on this website. Please don’t send us sensitive information (for example about your health) in forms or emails — we don’t need it.
4. Why we use it, and on what basis
To give you the free resource you asked for
We use your first name and email address to send you a link that confirms the address is yours, to give you access to the resource, and to send you messages directly related to it — for example, an email with a link to reach it again. These emails are sent from our own business mailbox. Legal basis: this is necessary to provide the service you requested (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without an email address we can’t confirm your request or send you the resource.
Until you confirm, we don’t store your request anywhere: the details you entered travel, encrypted, inside the confirmation link we email you, and only our server can read them. If you never click the link, nothing is kept.
To send you marketing and educational emails — only if you agree
If you tick the box to agree, we’ll send you emails about Elevate Publishers: our content, products, courses, community, resources and special offers. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 130 of the Italian Privacy Code). Agreeing is optional: saying no does not stop you from receiving the resource you requested. Only people who agree, and then confirm their email address, are added to our email list on EmailOctopus. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every marketing email, or by writing to us.
To email our community members and customers
We email members of our Skool community and people who bought from us on Gumroad about the community and what they joined or bought: new courses and lessons, resources, events, and changes to the plans — including, for past buyers, their free access to Premium. Legal basis: for members, keeping you informed about the community you joined is part of the membership (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); for customers, emails about products similar to the ones you bought (Article 130(4) of the Italian Privacy Code). Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to stop them at any time.
To answer your messages
We use what you send us to reply and to handle your request. Legal basis: taking the steps you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) or, where there’s no such request, our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To run the website and keep it secure
Technical data is used to deliver the website, keep it working and protect it against abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a secure, functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To meet legal obligations and protect our rights
We keep the records the law requires, for example for accounting and tax purposes where they apply, and we may use data to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in protecting our rights (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time (see section 10). We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Who processes it for us
We do not sell your personal data for money, and we don’t rent or trade it. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run the website or provide the services you ask for, and only as far as they need to:
- EmailOctopus (Three Hearts Digital Ltd, United Kingdom) — our email marketing service. It stores our subscriber list and sends our emails, using its own email delivery providers. EmailOctopus privacy policy.
- Namecheap (Namecheap, Inc., United States) — our website hosting, domain and business email provider (Namecheap Private Email). As our processor it handles technical data such as server logs, and it carries the confirmation and resource emails we send you and the messages you send us. Namecheap privacy policy.
The website loads nothing from third parties: its fonts, scripts, images and videos — including the tools that build the PDF of your worksheet answers — are all served from our own hosting, so your browser doesn’t connect to Google or any other outside service while you use it.
Where necessary, we may also share data with professional advisers (such as an accountant or lawyer) bound by confidentiality, and with authorities when the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Elevate Publishers is established in Italy, in the European Union. Some of the providers above are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), or use infrastructure or sub-processors outside it:
- EmailOctopus is based in the United Kingdom. Its privacy policy states that contact lists are stored on Amazon Web Services servers in Ireland, and that some of its staff and service providers, including the providers that deliver emails, may process data outside the UK and the EEA. For the safeguards it applies, see EmailOctopus’s current privacy documentation.
- Namecheap is based in the United States, and this website is hosted on its servers in the United States. Its Data Processing Addendum governs the data it processes for us and provides for the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses where they apply.
Whenever data leaves the EEA, the transfer relies on the safeguards the relevant provider describes in its own documentation, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission or Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more information at support@elevatepublishers.com.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete or anonymise it. In practice:
- Marketing subscribers: for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, we stop sending marketing emails and keep only what we need to respect that choice and to show we obtained and honoured your consent.
- Free resource requests without marketing consent: we don’t keep them. We use your details to send the confirmation and resource emails, and don’t add you to our email list. To protect the forms from abuse, our server keeps short-lived security records made only of scrambled codes (one-way hashes, from which your address can’t be read back): request counters for up to a day, and a note that a confirmation link was used for up to eight days. Our email provider keeps its own technical delivery logs.
- Community members and customers: for as long as you’re a member or customer and haven’t unsubscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to respect that choice.
- Messages you send us: as long as needed to deal with your request and keep a record of the conversation, and longer only if needed to establish or defend legal claims.
- Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider’s systems.
- Records required by law, such as accounting and tax records: for the period the law requires.
8. Skool, Gumroad, YouTube and other platforms
The Elevate Publishers community, courses and memberships run on Skool. When you click a “Join” button, you leave this website and go to the Elevate Publishers community on Skool, at skool.com/elevatepublishers. Creating an account, joining a membership and paying all happen on Skool, which is an independent platform with its own terms and privacy policy. Elevate Publishers does not control how Skool itself processes your data. Please read Skool’s Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions before you use the platform.
Inside the community, we can see the information Skool makes available to community owners — for example your profile, your activity in the community and any answers you give to membership questions — and we use it only to run the community.
Our guides and courses are sold on Gumroad (Gumroad, Inc., United States), which handles checkout and payment as an independent platform under its own privacy policy. When you buy, Gumroad shares your name, email address and purchase details with us; we never receive your full payment details.
Links to our YouTube channel take you to YouTube, operated by Google, under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Other external links lead to independent websites with their own policies; we aren’t responsible for how they handle your data.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
At the date of this policy the website sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage only where technically necessary: to remember your choice in the cookie banner, and to save your answers in an interactive resource on your own device. When you request a free resource, your browser’s session storage briefly holds the name, email and choices you entered, so the next page can show where we sent the confirmation link and send it again if you ask; it’s deleted when you confirm or close the tab.
- Analytics or measurement tools: the website does not use any.
- Advertising, profiling or other non-essential tracking: the website does not use any, and has no advertising pixels.
On your first visit a cookie banner asks for your choice about optional cookies, with “Accept all” and “Reject all” equally easy, and you can change it at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Where we rely on your consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code. If we ever add an optional tool, it will only run after you accept it, and we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy first. Full details are in the Cookie Policy.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data and get a copy of it;
- rectification of data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- erasure of your data, where there’s no longer a good reason to keep it;
- restriction of processing in certain circumstances, for example while a correction is being checked;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests and, at any time and without giving a reason, to direct marketing;
- data portability — receiving the data you gave us in a structured, commonly used format — where processing is based on your consent or on a service you requested, and is carried out by automated means;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent. This doesn’t affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
To unsubscribe from marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them. To exercise any other right, write to support@elevatepublishers.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We’ll reply within one month; for complex or numerous requests this can be extended by up to two further months, and we’ll tell you if that happens. Exercising your rights is normally free of charge.
Complaints. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. As Elevate Publishers is established in Italy, the lead authority is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live, work, or where you think the problem occurred. We’d appreciate the chance to sort things out first, so please feel free to contact us.
Outside the EU. If you live elsewhere — for example in the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a US state with its own privacy law — you may have similar or additional rights under your local law, and we’ll handle your request in line with the law that applies to you. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
11. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to a business of our size and to the data we hold: the website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to the accounts where personal data is kept is limited and protected, and we use providers that commit to protecting the data they process for us. No system is completely secure; if a breach ever affects your data, we will act as the law requires, including informing you where necessary.
12. Children
The website, our free resources and the community are intended for adults. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, our services or the law change. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top. If a change is significant — for example a new purpose for your data — we will make it clear on the website and, where appropriate, tell you by email before it applies.
